King Stingray
For The Dreams
Independent
King Stingray is celebrating a moment. The Australia band’s debut album propelled the group into the limelight through an epic tour and a collection of songs that gave them an identity beyond their wildest dreams.
Enter For The Dreams, and they have created a brand new moment. This moment is in the form of strength from the foundations of where they grew up and the bonding that blooms forth a sound that flows and radiates that connects on a deeper level with the listener.
“We’re from a small place but we’re singing about big things,” says guitarist/producerRoy Kellaway. “That’s what this record is encompassing.”
When you hear “Best Bits,” there is a feeling that everything clicks in perfect motion, and you cannot help but nestle into that feeling to become part of the experience. “Southerly” gives off a different vibe, emitting more New Wave stylings thanks to the synths. The song creates an aural landscape that is abstract while keeping its rock footing.
Then there’s the didgeridoo, added to the songs that ends up feeling forced for the purpose of national identity. The ancient Aboriginal instrument is used as accentuation but could easily be left out, and you would not sacrifice anything.
Surrounded by the highs of a momentum, the group went big to explore and expand their sound to create 12 songs that are fun to listen to wrapped up with multiple moments and discoveries in their craftings.
