Stoned Jesus
Seven Thunders Roar
Season of Mist
Season of Mist is giving Stoned Jesus’s sophomore album Seven Thunders Roar a reminder to the wider audience why this album is essential. Their remastered work contains various amalgamations of material that brings to light edited and extended versions as well as some demos for perspective.
What captures the stoner rock scene branching outward is how massive this album is. There’s not a song that falls under five minutes and every one of them is packed full of depth and vision that the band’s passion outweighs the crushing sound. 13 years ago, Ukraine was a different world. For this album to resurface is even more impactful today.
Embracing nature and earthly elements to their dusty guitars, the listener falls into their folk psychedelic meditations. Once the band gets fully amplified, metal becomes an altered state and their longest track on the album is dimensional as the song morphs, grows, and transforms.
Seven Thunders Roar is never complacent. As much as this album is about perseverance, finding a higher level of consciousness, and to break free from the struggles that persist, it’s equally about inner strength and growth. This reflection continues to shine like a new morning. Stoned Jesus aurally captures the essence best.
